alcohol sleep FitLinks: Drinking Alcohol May Make Sleep Less Satisfying There were several interesting and newsworthy research and fitness articles this week. For example, new research out this week supports this idea that alcohol negatively affects sleep patterns. This shouldn’t be too much of a surprise to you if you read our popular article Does Alcohol Prevent Weight Loss?, but it does offer even more evidence.

Recently, a new device was announced that is supposedly minimally invasive and pumps 30% of a just-ingested meal straight out of the stomach. It is supposed to be an easier option for those considering surgery to change their weight. But is it really easy, effective, safe? Or is this device taking things a step too far?

We’ve also focused this week on articles about common fitness myths: apparently sex really doesn’t burn as many calories as people believe. There is some cool information about whether your mealtime does significantly affect your weight, and why if you’re drinking in the evening, you might not be getting the restful night of sleep you think.

Please Note: The articles and videos listed below are informative, popular, newsworthy, or a combination of all three. Science’s modern answer to the Roman vomitorium? I find the whole thing a little unsettling.

FitLinks is fantastic. This type of info is one of my favorite parts about reading fitness magazines like Men’s Health. Keep up the great work!
