Success Story: Brent Lost 40 lbs In 12-Weeks!

When life gets busy and stressful, it’s not uncommon for exercise and healthy eating to fall out of priority. That’s often accompanied by an almost imperceptible weight-creep. That’s what happened to Brent, who grew up active and never thought about his weight, until he found himself weighing in at 238 lbs!

When he joined the gym, he quickly found himself bored doing the same workouts and not seeing results. Why did you get out of shape? What happened?

For most of my life, my weight was not really something I thought about. In my teens, I was always active and enjoyed sports, so it was never a concern. But after entering the work force, exercise took a back seat to my career. Before I knew it, I weighed over 100kgs (220.5 lbs). Even at that point though, I was happy and not really too concerned about my weight. That changed at the end of last year when my weight spiked to 108kgs (238 lbs).

What motivated you to make a change?

At the end of last year (2015), I suffered from depression and panic attacks, and one way that I consoled myself was to eat and drink. It got to the point where I was drinking 2 litres of cola per day and ordering take-out every night.

As I’m not a fan of taking medicine, I started to do some research online about how to deal with these issues. I found that a common recommendation across all websites was that getting out and exercising can help ease anxiety and depression. So I decided to get active.

How did you come across BuiltLean?

I joined the gym and attempted to do my own thing for a while, but I wasn’t satisfied with my progress. I was doing the same thing day-after-day and was getting bored. So, as we all do in this day in age, I turned to the internet for answers. After spending a week looking through various websites I came across “BuiltLean”.

Which BuiltLean Program Did You Use?

I finished the 12-Week Transformation program, and am now working on the 30-Day Shred.

What results did you get with the BuiltLean Program?

At the start of the program, I weighed in at 108kg (238 lbs) and 30% body fat. By the end, I was down to 90kg (198.4 lbs) and 20.5% body fat. Not only that, but my resting heart rate went from 75bpm down to 64bpm, and my blood pressure went from 134/80 down to 107/60.

How did the BuiltLean help you reach your goals?

I’m a busy guy and not an expert on fitness and nutrition, but with the BuiltLean program everything was laid out for me. The exercises were consistently changing, and the instructional videos and explanations of each exercise made sure had the information needed to maximize my results and prevent injury. Following the program was a breath of fresh air and it allowed me to step into the gym with confidence and a purpose, instead of clumsily wandering around the gym on my own. I now enjoy going to the gym, and when I’m there it’s like the outside world disappears. I walk out feeling refreshed. The panic attacks have subsided and my attitude to life has changed for the better.

What did you like most about the Program?

The fact that everything was set-up made working out so much easier, and the videos allowed me to watch any of the exercises I was unfamiliar with. Whenever I had a question, as long as it wasn’t the weekend, I got a reply within 24-hrs. The BuiltLean staff were, and are friendly and very supportive.

What are the workouts like?

They start easy and get progressively more difficult (weeks 5-8 build on exercises that you’ve perfected during weeks 1-4). It was great that I could be in and out of the gym within 45 minutes (which included warming up and cooling down).

Can you elaborate on how your eating habits changed?

I followed the nutrition plan for the first month, and after gaining some confidence I decided to make my own. I eat healthier now, and the only liquid that touches these lips during the day is water.

What have your friends thought after seeing your results?

My friends have been shocked week-to-week, and when I showed them the before- and after-photos, they were left speechless.

What would you tell someone who’s on the fence about training with BuiltLean?

Do it!! The price is affordable, and the experience is life changing. The support of the staff is great, and the amount of effort that went into making this program easy to follow is plain to see.
