Editorial Policy

Our editorial mission is to bring you trustworthy, accurate, and actionable health and fitness information. Our daily goal is to ensure that BuiltLean is your practical and relevant content source for the best in health and fitness.

We are committed to providing information on a wide array of health, fitness, and nutrition topics that are relevant to body composition, performance, and health. Be aware, however, that information on BuiltLean or any other website should not be used as a substitute for professional healthcare.

You should always seek the advice of your physician or other qualified health provider with any questions you may have regarding a medical condition. Never disregard professional medical advice or delay in seeking it because of something you have read on our site or any site.

The following sections detail our content policies and procedures.

Editorial Policy – Key Points

Original Content – All content is original, unless clearly stated otherwise. Some of our content may be syndicated by partners, so our articles may appear on other websites.

Full Disclosure – We fully disclose any financial, or other interest in any companies that are discussed on our site. Links to products, or services on the site may contain affiliate links, whether the products are recommended, or not to help support our writing efforts. We choose articles to write that our readers will find informative and useful. Our company BuiltLean LLC is self-funded so there are no other funding sources.

Editorial Oversight – Each completed article, blog post, or video to be published is reviewed by an editor for accuracy and appropriateness. The article is also reviewed for style, flow, punctuation, readability, and engagement. Finally, the article moves from editing to publishing, where it is converted to HTML and published to the site, typically with photos that are relevant to the content of the article.

Most articles are medically reviewed before publication and every article is reviewed by a certified fitness professional before publication. In addition, where and when necessary, health claims are properly referenced using AMA style citation. When an article includes references, a “References” link is included at the bottom of the article.

Honesty & Conflicts of Interest – We have our own products and services that are designed to help busy professional men get lean, strong, and fit, but we will not hesitate to recommend the products of our competitors and we do not skew an article. If we do mention our products, or programs in an article, we do so in a way that’s clear and not misleading. Our #1 goal is to help others make positive lifestyle changes related to health and well-being. If you have an issue with any article, please contact us and we will review it right away.

Relevance – While there are countless fitness, nutrition, and health topics, we emphasize those topics that are most relevant to our core readers who are busy professional men. A large percentage of articles are male oriented, but most are gender neutral.
