All you need is a pair of dumbbells, but if you have access to a gym or more equipment at home, we have exercises that require more equipment for you.

Yes, this program can be used and does work for women too. Women also have a separate nutrition plan based on a lower calorie level.
Yes, for each exercise, we include one or more alternative exercises based on equipment access and fitness level. The Shred program is not for beginners, however, so if you have no experience exercising with weights or doing cardiovascular training, this program is not for you.
This program is not designed for someone who is out of shape, but for someone who is already in shape and wants to get to the next level and lose the last layer of body fat.

Yes, the BuiltLean Shred Nutrition Plan includes recipes that are appropriate for vegetarians (eat dairy and/or eggs, but avoid meat and fish), and can be adjusted for vegans (no meat, fish, dairy, or eggs).
The Shred Nutrition Plan recommends including complete proteins at each meal, regardless of your dietary preferences.
BuiltLean Shred is a more advanced program for people who have the last 5 to 10 pounds of fat to lose and want an intense 5-day a week program, whereas BuiltLean Transformation is for people who want to make more sustainable lifestyle changes, may have more than 10 pounds of fat to lose, and requires 3 workouts per week. * BuiltLean Muscle is a muscle-building program, so the core goal is to build more muscle without gaining fat and requires 3 workouts each week.
If you have not strength trained recently, or use heavy enough weights, than it is possible to gain muscle on the BuiltLean Shred while losing fat. The program is designed as a fat loss program, but some customers may also add lean muscle.
If your primary goal is to build muscle without gaining fat, we recommend our BuiltLean Muscle program.
